Brotherly and Sisterly Love. Jordan, Dan, Cameron, Keegan and Kelsey modeling shorts form S/S 2011
A happy Joburg housewife turned designer, Jen Tredoux last year launched her first line of colourful, summer shorts named "For Days". Pinks, yellows, blues, stripes, flowers, polka-dots, and even little bunny rabbits. Bum shorts for girls and mid-thigh shorts for the boys. Tredoux set out on the mission to create simple, bold and beautiful shorts for kids, young adults and even the ballies.

The name is outlandish but wonderfully South African. Her son Dan, a fifteen year-old St Andrews boy, speaks his own kind of language, recognisably English yet overflowing with school boy slang. For days was just one of these bizarre terms, meaning "so many/long/much", that brought Tredoux to giggles and so "For Days" was born.

You can wear these shorts in bed, on the beach, around the house and even out and about. These versatile shorts are perfect for kids, teenagers and university students on a hot day for being cool and yet still being able to wear something that exalts their character. Shorts vary from simplistic styles to outrageous bright, bold colours.
To make you fall in love with these shorts even more than you already have, the next little piece of information I divulge you in will make your fashion loving teeth gleam and gnaw in anticipation for 2012's first collection release. Tredoux believes in out with the old and in with the new. New shorts, new colours and new patterns so nothing stops you from buying one season to the next.
And soon new designs...

It is the little details that distinguish "For Days" from "Jam-Jams" and other pajama and shorts designs. Details take a pair of shorts from one a dozen to one in a million, in its unique and bursts of character.
Bottoms. Look at the detail on the pockets. Too darling
Tredoux's shorts have bold, contrasting accents of colour on the pocket on the bum and in the side pockets. The drastic change of bright colours and patterns gives "For Days" a little somethin' somethin'. Also, the front of the shorts are stamped with Tredoux's approval with the brand name "For Days" blocked in a rainbow of colours complimenting the shorts' main colour.
The whole "For Days" crew together. Happy Family For Days...
Her first line was launched in the Spring/Summer 2011 and she sold out fast over the Christmas holidays. Her main buyers are in Johannesburg and the Eastern Cape, more specifically in Kenton and Grahamstown. However, she hopes to expand her sales to other cities like Durban.
Over the Christmas lunch table, Tredoux flung ideas out across the turkey and her friends bounced back their own ideas for new designs, colours and limited edition shorts for specific occasions like golf days for the fathers. So far, since the Christmas Sell Out Tredoux has commenced a new journey into the production of skirts based on her eighteen year old daughter's, Becky, favourite British high street designer, Jack Wills. And soon, long, wide Winter pants are to follow.
